[ History ] :
[ "Heir To The Title of Holy Warrior" ]

[ Personality ] :

Brash, conceited, and overall mean, Patroklos comes across as an overbearing brat with a grudge against the world and for good reason. He's quick to act in the name of "justice" but doesn't seem to quite know what justice means. His domineering and sometimes cruel tactics causes scorn from others. He's quick to execute anyone who seems slightly different from the average person, claiming they are tainted with evil. His hatred for the "malfested" is what drives his hate. He lost his entire family to them, including his older sister who was kidnapped by a malfested sporting a ring-blade. The malfested are beings who are possessed by the evils of the diabolical Soul Edge, the sword of destruction. Patroklos has gone out of his way countless time to rid the world of such vermin but in the end his actions were mislead by his wrath. His personality contrasts greatly with that of Pyrrha's, making him seem like a rowdier of one of the two siblings. Guided by his emotions and not by logic, Patroklos is prone to make foolish mistakes because of his hot-headed nature. He's stubborn, boorish, rude and sometimes quite violent. While many others view him as a rampaging murderer, Patroklos is actually nothing but a scared boy trying to find away to overcome the nightmares of his past.

When he's not guided by his negative emotions, Patroklos can be quite genial and honorable. Behind his somewhat crass and violent nature, he's actually quite naive and almost childish. Patroklos has a youthfulness about him that gives off the illusion that he's quite unsure of himself and his future. As much as he strives to save his sister Pyrrha, Patroklos finds his confidence shaken when he realizes his sister is a malfested too. His negative demeanor begins to change drastically in his tale once he realizes the error of his ways, allowing some growth in his character. Instead of remaining hateful and amoral, Patroklos begins to grow as a person in order to find the inner peace he needs in order to defeat the cursed blade, Soul Edge. It's then that his heart is no longer heavy with grief of hate but rather with love.

This drastic change in his personality eventually leads into the creation of "α Patroklos" (Alpha Patroklos), which is his more determined and focused alter-ego that is possessed by the will of Soul Calibur.

[ Strengths/Weaknesses ] :
Patroklos greatest strength is perhaps his determination to find his long lost sister. Throughout his entire life, that willpower has saw him through the most dire situations and encouraged him to proceed forward rather than falter in his quest. His almost maniac and desperate search for his sister, Pyrrha, partially consumes every aspect of his life. This is because he longs to have the family that was stolen from him united once more. Patroklos will stop at nothing until he finds his sister which is quite noble of him in a sense. Yet this dire need he has to find Pyrrha also breeds the hate he has for anyone he deems "malfested".

He blames Tira for ruining his family and ultimately hates anyone who's different since he's quick to associate others to be just like Tira. His hate for those of unique skills and traits stems all from the trauma he suffered in his youth, thus making him see the malfested as less than human. One of his other weaknesses deal with the fact that despite all his skill with the blade, Patroklos is horribly naive. He placed so much trust in Graf Dumas' words that he never stopped to think for himself. The boy merely followed orders, constantly allowing the Graf to think for him while he slayed countless of innocents under false pretenses. This is perhaps his greatest flaw as a person considering he became a rampaging murderer all because of his hatred towards the malfested. Patroklos isn't evil or sadistic per say, but some of his actions certainly would force others to perceive him that way.

However, there's one trait about Patroklos that is actually quite good, and it's the fact he knows when to apologize. After meeting Z.W.E.I. and the rest of Siegfried's band of mercenaries, the boy begins to see the error in his ways and takes strides to change himself. His quest for redemption certainly will be a long one but at least he realized he cannot remain filled with such hate anymore.

[ Other Important Facts ] :

Patroklos love for his lost family is absolute especially when it comes down to how he honors his mother, Sophitia. When he was a child, he always admired his mother for her skill in combat and wanted to someday follow in her footsteps as a "Holy Warrior". His mother's death by Tira's hands is the ultimate reason why Patroklos took up the blade in the first place. He wanted to avenge her death by defeating the ring-blade wielder using his mother's Athenian style of swordplay.
